As a private practitioner, I want to inform you about the nuances of insurance coverage for our services. It is important to note that most insurance companies do not cover psychoeducational testing, categorizing these services as ‘educational’ rather than ‘medical’ in nature. This remains true even if the provider is considered ‘in-network’. Additionally, insurance companies vary considerably in their coverage of psychological evaluations, with policies differing widely in terms of what they will reimburse. I encourage potential clients to reach out directly to discuss your specific insurance plan and explore available options.
